Getting the kids back to school is an exciting time but paying for all the stuff they need is a really stressful time for a lot of families.
With Christmas and holiday activities taking a lot of the budget, here are some tips and tricks to save you money while getting the kids ready for the new school year.
Uniforms
Shop the big 3: Kmart, Big W and Best & Less. Check your school’s uniform shop for second hand uniforms, try eBay and Gumtree or websites like
School Seconds/a>. Host a back to school uniform swap and trade clothes. Don’t forget to get a larger size!
Stationery
See what you already have at home that can be reused and let the kids raid your drawers to find ways they can decorate books with photos. Buy online and be sure to check back to school sales. Make sure you stick to the list!
Label Everything
Make sure you label everything from their lunchbox to their socks and everything in between. You can guarantee that things will go missing during the year. Spending a little time with a Sharpie will save you money in the long run!
