10 Valentine’s Day ideas without emptying your wallet
The most romantic day of the year is nearly here and if you’re struggling to think of a gift or ways to celebrate or don’t have the dough to fund an extravagant idea, check out 10 ideas we’ve listed to help you out.
  1. Movie night at home - Movie night doesn’t have to mean overly expensive movie tickets and a drink and popcorn combo. Hire a movie from the library or borrow one from a friend. If you own a movie you both love, chuck that on in the comfort of your own home. Use up some snacks in your pantry, sit back and enjoy.
  1. Bike ride - If you’re the outdoorsy- type, why not take off on a romantic bike ride?
  1. Picnic - Use up your groceries in the fridge, take a picnic blanket and head over to a beautiful spot like a park or garden. Bonus points for locations with a view!
  1. Massages - Because who doesn’t love a good massage?
  1. Love notes in unexpected places - On the mirror, in the car, on a post it note in his sandwich- shower your home with love messages.
  1. Make an extra special lunch for your lover - We’re not talking lobster and caviar. Jazz up the normal salad with different ingredients like salmon.
  1. Board game by candle light - Board games can be a lot of fun with just 2 people. Why not make it a group date and have the guest BYO drinks and snacks
  1. Coupon book - Say “I love you” every month with a coupon book. Fill it with different favours they can redeem once a month like foot rubs, washing the dishes, etc
  1. Get baking - Heart shaped cookies, red velvet cupcakes- anything sweet will do!
  1. 100 reasons why I love you - Write a list of all the things you love about your other half (If you’re stuck on ideas, google it, we won’t tell!).
There’s plenty of things you can do without breaking the bank. Be creative and share the love!
